About you
The Emergency Shelter Research Assistant will support the Emergency Shelter Researcher and Senior Shelter Adviser (Self-Recovery), primarily at CIUK, but also in close coordination with colleagues at CENDEP, CRS, Habitat for Humanity and CRAterre. This is a support role to assist us in both administrative and research activities. The Emergency Shelter Research Assistant will be responsible for the provision of any support required for fieldwork logistics, organising relevant project meetings, workshops and conferences and the production and dissemination of reports from these events and research activities. S/he will support research activities including providing support for the development of the research methodologies, data collection, analysis, write-up and dissemination.
S/he will also be working as part of the CIUK Emergency Shelter Team. A degree of flexibility will be expected as the workload of the team can vary depending on the demands of CARE country offices and the severity and frequency of disasters.
The research assistant will be self-motivated, well-organised, resourceful and capable of managing his/her workload independently.
