Why work for us?
Are you passionate about gender equality and women empowerment? Do you know how inspire colleagues and get gender at the core of programming and organisational change? Then being part of our Governance team is the right place for you!
CARE International has put gender equality and women voice at the core of its 2015-2020 global strategy. Along with inclusive governance and resilience, tackling gender inequalities is right at the centre of CARE Approach. At CARE International level, gender mainstreaming is led by the CARE International Gender Network and by other champions across the system, including a gender team in CARE USA.
CARE UK has made a core commitment to integrating gender across its programmatic work as well as to its wider institutional procedures as part of its Strategic Plan for 2015-20. While CIUK has a clear gender track record, the organisation has lacked dedicated gender focused capacity to lead internal programmatic and institutional work, and profile it externally. The senior gender advisor will help address these gaps by acting as a gender focal point within CARE UK.
The post holder will be a senior technical resource within the Programme Department, mainly focused on developmental work with links to the humanitarian team. This position will also be responsible to mainstream gender across CIUK policies and procedures reflecting the organisation wide commitment to gender. Finally, this position will be the link to CARE International Gender Network.
About you
Our ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with sound experience in gender mainstreaming. We are looking for an ambitious candidate who is committee to addressing gender inequalities and wants to join a very dynamic team, supporting its consolidation and expansion. You will be able to support colleagues in technical and programme team, as well as working in integrating gender into our policies, promoting transformational change in our behaviours and organisational culture.
